Position: Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher

Location: Valor and Victory Academy, Kalona, IA

Overview:

Valor and Victory Academy is seeking a creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teacher to join our nurturing and dynamic educational team in Kalona, Iowa. As a teacher, you will have the opportunity to shape the foundation of our young learners and foster their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Planning and Implementation:

- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with the school's curriculum and educational philosophy.

- Create a well-rounded and engaging learning experience that focuses on early literacy, numeracy, creative expression, social skills development, as well as biblical principles.

- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

2. Classroom Management:

- Create a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages active learning and positive behavior.

- Establish clear expectations and routines for daily activities, transitions, and playtime.

- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing individualized attention and support as needed.

3. Student Development and Assessment:

- Observe and track students' developmental milestones and academic progress.

- Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate students' learning outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

- Collaborate with parents and guardians to share progress reports and discuss strategies for continued growth.

4. Parent and Community Engagement:

- Foster open communication and strong partnerships with parents and families, ensuring they are involved in their child's educational journey.

- Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and community outreach programs.

- Keep parents informed about classroom activities, events, and important announcements. (Daily parent communication is required)

5. Inclusive Education:

- Embrace diversity and create an inclusive classroom that celebrates the unique backgrounds and abilities of each student.

- Implement strategies to support children with special learning needs and provide necessary accommodations.

6. Professional Development:

- Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in early childhood education through continuous professional development.

- Attend workshops, training sessions, and educational conferences to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

-18 years of age.

- Six months of experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required).

- Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods.

- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

-Bilingual (Preferred).

- Creativity and adaptability to engage and motivate young learners.

- Passion for providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for preschool-aged children.

-CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

-Fingerprints ran (to be completed upon hire).

-Pass a background check to ensure child welfare.
